Carpet Cleaning FAQ

What green products do you use to clean carpets?

Eco-Friendly Cleaning uses a product called Axiom that meets or exceeds the Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment program. These products include pre-strays, detergents, deodorizers, rinses and stain removers.

What is Eco-Friendly Cleaning’s carpet cleaning process?

Eco-Friendly Cleaning’s basic package is a five step cleaning process involving vacuuming, spotter application, a pre-spray solution to help lift soil from carpets, agitation and then finally hot water extraction. These five steps are necessary to professionally clean carpets using the hot-water extraction method. In addition to these steps, we offer rinses that leave carpets feeling extra soft and deodorizers that remove smelly odors from your carpet.

How should I prepare for your arrival?

To clean your carpet thoroughly we prefer that you move all of the furniture from the rooms in your house that we are cleaning. We also ask that the front entry way, or the entry way that we will be using to enter your home, also be clutter free so that we can bring our supplies and machinery.

Do you help move furniture?

We ask that you remove all furniture, but if you prefer us to go around some furniture we are happy to do that. We can help move some light furniture although we prefer that you move valuables.

How long will my carpet take to dry?

Depending on the environment in your home, the carpet could take 4-6 hours to dry and maybe longer. You can walk on it though in clean shoes or barefoot. Opening up the windows in your home to allow the moisture to evaporate helps. We don’t recommend turning on the heater.

What’s your cancellation policy?

24 hour notice. If you cancel after 24 hours before your appointment, there will be a $25 charge.

How often should I have my carpet professionally cleaned?

Typically you should have their carpets cleaned at least one time a year. If you have many people living in your home, children and or pets, you might want to think about having your carpets cleaned two times a year. Cleaning your carpet regularly will extend the life of your carpet and your investment.

Does hot water extraction cleaning ruin my carpet?

No. There are many methods of carpet cleaning and some cleaners do not use water methods, but Eco-Friendly Cleaning prefers to use the hot water extraction method because we have seen the positive results and long-lasting resilience of carpet that is maintained with this cleaning method.

Will you remove all my stains?

We will try to remove all of the stains on your carpets with our specialty products. When stains are left for some time, it possible that we may not be able to remove them.

What should I do to remove stains?

Trying to get out stains as soon as possible. If you can not, be sure to remember what the stain is when one of our technicians come out to your home so that we can be sure to use the most effective product to remove the stain.
